Scene Description:
The US Coast Guard reported tonight that 50 Russian seamen were lost when a 239-foot Soviet refrigerator ship, like the Mikhail Yanko shown above, sank in the Bering Sea about 35 miles north of Unimak Island in the Aleutians. 50 survivors were picked up by other Russian vessels. The Yanko is shown in 1956 50 miles off the coast of Washington. Dec. 31, 1966. (Picture is of the Yanko in 1956.)
