    Description

Boston Maine Steamship Co Cabinet Card Photographs Officers, Captain, Archive.
This offering is for a one of a kind photo archive of Officers of the Boston Bangor Steamship company.
The company was formed in 1882 and was Formerly Known as Sanford's Independent Line from 1823-1882. I suspect these photographs were taken right about the time the line changed names.
All 12 photographs in this lot are identified as officers for the line, either by name or by uniform, some with both, and several with the name of the ship they served on.
Several officers have the family name of Crockett, which was the name of the photographer from Rockland Maine suggesting they were of the same family.
This archive came out of a rockland Maine estate, as part of a larger family album. The album itself was in disrepair so much so that removing the photographs seemed safer then selling the album in its entirety.
These are all standard or near standard size cabinet cards. One image has been trimmed on the upper edge, one on the bottom edge, and one has a dog ear about 1.5 inches long in one corner. The remainder show light wear but overall bright and clean.
This is truly a one of a kind nautical collection, worthy of note, or even museum or genealogical interest.
The images present with no mold mildew or cigarette smoke smells.
All of our antique items are sold as found as is with no returns. Please ask questions prior to bidding and I will do my best to help you.
