This vintage
BEANY BOY
doll is in very nice shape. He is the somwhat smaller non-talking version. He is a little over
15 inches
tall. This one is the extra one I bought because he was so nice even though his plastic propeller was gone. They are often missing or broken. I am a grandpa now and am trying to 'thin the herd' of my various collections to more manageable sizes.
Copyright 1949, but made in the early 60's. Lots of sellers say it was made in 1949. That is NOT true. This is probably from
1961
or
1962
. The cartoon show officially became
THE BEANY AND CECIL SHOW
in 1962, but the animated characters were on since 1959. His tag is intact and he has only very minor paint wear. I posted lots of photos. The holder for his prop is still there (often kids bent them so much they came off). It has stress marks in the paint, but is firmly attached. He is from a non-smoking and pet-free home. One of my earliest childhood favorites. I had a Cecil doll, Beany-Copter and JUMPIN' DJ Game as a child. A gorgeus Baby Boomer classic doll!!! I also have a
