Ink Bottle Lot of 6 - Vintage 1865-1895
This auction is for group of 6 old ink bottles dug in Philadelphia privies spanning the 1850's to 1890's. All are hand blown or hand made, and most unembossed. The lot includes:
Umbrella ink, aqua, 8-sided, circa 1865, 3" tall. Condition: excellent - no damage, some spotty trace haze
Large round flare lip ink, about 3 1/2" tall and 3 3/8" wide, clear. Embossed on side with a large "
B"
and
base embossed:
PAT'D APPLIED 1868

Condition: no damage, but heavy overall stain.
Round squat bulb type, clear, 2 3/8"

Condition: lip roughness 1/8" and stain
Pottery stoneware, round, 5 1/4". Condition: no chips or damage, a few light scuffs, nice
Cone ink, aqua, 2 3/4", super crude with big glass fold from manufacturing.
Condition: no damage, but has some stain
