Large Unglazed Swirlware Pitcher, reportedly from Sanford, NC

Description

Large, heavy agateware pitcher of red and white clay.
Neck, spout, and handle of red clay only.
Completely unglazed.
Unmarked, except for “6G10” written on bottom with marker,
probably by previous owner.
Said by the original owner to have been purchased
from a shop
in Sanford, NC, date not specified.
Was not being offered for sale; original owner asked if he could purchase it.
Suggested by those knowledgeable about NC pottery
to *possibly* have been an experimental North State piece,
but I am making NO representations as to its origin or date.
Stands 11-1/2 in. tall to top of spout, 5 in. wide at top, 5-1/2 in. at base,
about 9 in. across at widest point.
Crude, with numerous imperfections, as shown in photos;
kiln trash on inside bottom;
doesn’t sit flat because of bit of clay stuck to bottom.
A very heavy piece! Will be double-boxed.
Shipping will be expensive, especially any great distance.
