    TDK's LTO 4 data tapes hold twice the capacity of the LTO 3 with up to 1.6TB and has a 50% faster transfer rate of 240MB per second.
    It features new encryption capabilities to safely transfer and store sensitive information.
    LTD's LTO 4 tapes go through extensive testing to confirm interchange compatibility with other media.
    LTO Ultrium products are then 100% compatible with previous generations of TDK LTO media and drives.
    It is able to perform 250 back-ups and is backwards compatible with LTO 2 and LTO 3 data cartridges only
    TO-4 features doubled capacity compared to the LTO-3, offering 800GB native, or 1.6TB with 2:1 data compression. Performance is also improved with a transfer rate of 240MB/s. This boost in performance is not the only advancement: LTO-4 incorporates additional support for advanced data protection and security features. LTO-4 will continue to support the write-once, read-many (WORM) functionality seen in the LTO-3 and will now support 256-bit AES encryption.
