Description
One Antique Ink (?) Bottle - Clear Glass - Cork Top - Embossed w KanjiBought from a man whose mother dug or found these bottles in the 1970's while in Hawaii. I have four of these listed, my last photo on this listing shows all four.
THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE BOTTLE....
She put a little note inside, that says "Ginza, Tokyo". The bottle is embossed with different sets of Japanese writing on three sides, the last side has a groove molded into the glass, which looks like it could be a pen rest. If it is, then this is likely an ink bottle, but it's possible it once held medicine or perfume. The "pen rest" groove makes the bottom of the bottle an odd shape. There is a capital A embossed on the bottom. Made from a two part mold on the diagonal. Pretty clean, no chips or cracks, could be cleaned much better.
Measures 2.5" tall x .875" wide x .875" thick. Holds 1/2 ounce, and took a cork for closure.
I have other similar bottles listed as well. I also have the hard to find 1971 book Hawaiian Bottles of Long Ago, which this lady bought when she found these.
Buyers are expected to pay for items won within three days of the end of an auction. I am always happy to combine shipping when possible.
